Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Overview

High Shelf is a personal media tracking app. We collect only what is necessary to provide the service, and we do not sell your data to third parties.

What We Collect

Third-Party Services

High Shelf uses the following third-party services to operate:

Advertising & Tracking

Free-tier users may see ads served through Google AdMob (in the app) or Google AdSense (on the web). On iOS, we ask your permission — via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt — before using your device's advertising identifier to personalize those ads. If you decline, you'll still see ads, just not personalized ones. You can change this at any time in your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland see a consent form (via Google's User Messaging Platform) before any ad personalization occurs, in line with GDPR requirements.

Subscribing to High Shelf Pro removes ads — and ad tracking — entirely.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Supabase servers and protected using industry-standard security practices including encryption in transit and at rest. We do not store passwords in plain text — authentication is handled securely through Supabase Auth.

Your Rights

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. To do so:

Reporting & Moderation

If you report a post, list, review, comment, or user, we store the report — your account, what you reported, the reason, and any details you add — so our admin and editor accounts can review it. Report contents are only visible to High Shelf's moderators.

Blocking or muting another user is a setting on your own account. It isn't visible to the other person and can be undone at any time from their profile.

Children's Privacy

High Shelf is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
